Short description
Short description The UN’s standard international trade classification applies product categories that are more appropriate for economic analyses. The nomenclature classifies products according to their degree of processing, potential for use and importance on the world market, and its fourth (revised) version (SITC Revision 4) is in force currently.

There is no 3-digit difference in the correspondence table between SITC Rev. 3 and SITC Rev. 4, therefore no translation correspondence table has been generated for 3-digit SITC Rev.3 and SITC Rev.4 structures.

Legislation ordering the use of the classification:
There is no legislation requiring the use of the classification. SITC Rev. 4 was adopted by the UN Statistical Commission at its 37th session in March 2006.
